Sharing is caring!

After a fun summer filled with lots of road trips and nights away in our travel trailer, school is here… and the girls are super excited!

They both set their alarms last night, and Wendy helped them get their lunches together.

This morning, they were up bright and early… even before I was scheduled to wake them up. Lauren came running into my room yelling “It’s the first day of school Daddy”!

They got dressed, headed downstairs, had breakfast, fed Dakota, and packed up their school bags.

The more that you read…

My girls love Dr. Seuss. It’s probably because Wendy and I used to read it to them all the time, and they have lots of Dr. Seuss books. This is one of my favourite Dr. Seuss sayings…

The more things you will know…

We left for the bus stop a bit early. While walking, Rachel reached down and held Lauren’s hand. Lauren looked up at her, and smiled. My girls love each other… but can get on each other’s nerves once in a while. Moments like these make me so proud of them.

The more that you learn…

The bus finally pulled around the corner. The girls screamed! They were so excited for the new school year, and were really looking forward to seeing all their friends again.

The more places the bus is coming

… the more places you’ll go!

They boarded the bus. I was standing with the other parents, waving at them as they got settled in their seats.

Just before I was about to walk home, I saw Lauren pop her head up, wave to me, and say “I love you Daddy”.

I’m going to miss having them at home with me… but, I am also excited for the memories they will be creating, and the knowledge they will be gaining at school.

Cheers,
Big Daddy

  1. They are sweet Craig. I hope they have a great year at school! :) Jo

  2. Craig, I’m pretty sure we’re going to model our lifestyle after you, Wendy and the girls. Sarah grew up camping with her family over the summers and they have so many more memories for it than other families I know who chose to replace family time with new toys and other things. Your kids only have so much time being your kids, and I want to be the kind of parent to truly embrace the value of spending time as a cohesive unit.

Kudos to you, sir, for being the stellar father you are :)
