Taking the girls toboganning

Sharing is caring!

There’s nothing like frolicking around in freshly fallen snow. From making snow angels, to building a snowman, to toboganning down a snow-covered hill.

The latter is what my girl shave wanted to do the entire time they have been home for winter break.

It has been a busy couple of weeks. We’ve traveled to see family; had family come into town; and both Wendy and I had to work a few of those days. Between all of that, there wasn’t a lot of time to spend outdoors.

But as busy as it was, the girls kept asking if we would take them tobogganing.

With the predicted drop in temperature, I thought it best to drop what I was doing, and get them to the tobogganing hill.

As a parent, nothing pleases me more than seeing them get along, and have fun together.

The girls had a lot of fun.

Afterwards, I took them to Tim Hortons for hot chocolate. They loved hanging out while warming up.

Sometimes, it’s best just to make time to have fun.

Lesson learned.

Have you been out tobogganing this winter?

Cheers,
Big Daddy

Such a fun time! We have a hill in our backyard and this is one of my girls favourite pastimes. And they spent all afternoon yesterday at the park in the snowstorm – they came home with snow on every inch of them. We have the same green sled as you! We just got the zipfy luges for xmas too – which are super fun. I kinda want a GT snowracer next…

Hot cocoa is pretty much mandatory after.

  3. That looks like a lovely day together! AND tobogganing is such great exercise! I took the kids just before the break and wow – I worked up a sweat ;)

Lots of sledding here over the holidays as well. Hot Chocolate is a must after the hills :)

  5. Looks like they had a blast! I haven’t been to the hills yet this year, but my husband took the kids out. I’m wimpy when it comes to the cold!

  6. SO much fun! What an awesome Dad you are, Craig! Some of my fondest childhood memories are those of when my Dad took my brothers, cousins and me tobogganing.
