There really is nothing like experiencing a good local meal sitting a few feet from a beach. The sounds of the waves are so relaxing and really adds to the dining experience. That is Madiba Beach Café in Portsmouth, Dominica.

A popular spot for locals and tourists, Madiba Beach Café is your typical beach bar restaurant. Cold beer, local cocktails, a simple menu, and a mixture of regulars and tourists all looking for a relaxing meal. All inspired by Nelson Mandela, which Madiba Beach Café is named after.
Menu
The menu at Madiba Beach Café includes some simple options sure to please the pickiest of eaters.
Mains include:
• Tuna
• Grilled Fish
• Grilled Chicken
• Burger
• Lobster
• Shrimp
Desserts include:
• Pastries
• Local ice cream in various flavours
What I Ate
I ordered the garlic shrimp with rice and salad with a simple vinaigrette. The freshly caught shrimp are cooked in a garlic butter sauce with shell and tail on, so you will need to peel them before eating. While a simple meal, it was delicious.
There are also freshly baked pastries and many tropical flavours of ice cream to end your meal. I had the peanut ice cream, which was pretty tasty!
