Sharing is caring!

These meals were part of a press trip with the Travel Media Association of Canada, of which I am a member. Cost of my food and beverages were covered by Niagara Falls Tourism, and Niagara Parks. I have eaten at all of the other restaurants suggested. Opinions are my own.

Niagara Falls is one of the world’s most popular tourist destinations. There are lots of fun things to do, so many sites to see, and an endless list of things to experience. But there are also a lot of great places to eat.

On a recent press trip to the Niagara Region, I got to experience 3 places that I had never eaten at before.

“BLUNCH” at The Flour Mill Scratch Kitchen Restaurant

At the Flour Mill Scratch Kitchen Restaurant in Niagara Falls, everything is fresh and made to order. There are no microwaves or heat lamps in this scratch kitchen – just hand-selected culinary offerings from local farmers and artisanal producers. Enjoy popular dishes including their famous Maple Peppercorn Bacon Tree, Fresh Scones, East Coast Lobster Eggs Benedict, Quebec Foie Gras, or a Charcuterie Board, in the warm ambience of Niagara Falls’ only historical inn.

But what exactly is “Blunch”? Like brunch, it’s a cross between breakfast and lunch, but with a rustic and unique flair that only the Old Stone Inn can deliver.

I was really looking forward to this meal, and it exceeded my expectations!

Oh. Em. Gee! This was nothing like I have ever had before! Not only was the taste incredible, but the presentation was amazing! This is a must have when at the Flour Mill Scratch Kitchen Restaurant.

Old English
House-made Seasonal Scones, Croissants, Clotted Double Cream, House-made Jam

A great spread. My favourite was the pumpkin scones. I cut one in half and made a sandwich with the peppercorn candied bacon. It was delicious!

This was a small tasting of their 1904 Wagyu Burger, which also includes cheddar cheese, house-made dressing, and garlic fingerling potatoes. Even in it’s reduced size, this wagyu slider packed a big punch of awesome flavour!

A trip to the Old Stone Inn Boutique Hotel is not complete without drinks in the lounge. When I was there, the resident mixologist showcased these two drinks: Hibiscus Blooms (Gibson 12yr Whiskey, Lemon, Hibiscus Simple Syrup, Egg White, Jyrall hibiscus bitters) and a Violeta Blossom (Gifford violets, Tanqueray Rangpur Gin, Citric Lavender Concord Simple Syrup, Pineapple Juice, Violette Tincture). They were incredible and left me wanting to cancel my plans for the rest of my day and just chill out in the 1904 Bar and enjoy a few more of these.

Lunch at Ravine Vineyard Estate Winery

When most people visit a winery, it is to do a tasting flight or several different types of wines and potentially buy the ones they like. But what if the winery has a restaurant?

Ravine Vineyard Estate Winery has just that – an outdoor restaurant patio overlooking the rolling vineyards that has a fully covered weather-proof heated tent that will protect you from the elements. The restaurant offers awesome starters & shareables, wood oven pizzas, main courses, and great dessert options. There is also live music to entertain you and your group while you dine.

What I Ate

I sampled 2 of their wood oven pizzas:

Margarita Pizza
• house tomato sauce, virgin mozzarella, fior di latte, garden basil pesto

I don’t normally order a Margarita style pizza, but I really enjoyed this one. The crust was fantastic!

Cup/N/Char Pepperoni
• house tomato sauce, virgin mozzarella, Buffalo style cup’n’char pepperoni

This was my favourite of the two! The pepperoni is made in house and can be bought in their storefront). The sauce and crust were on point.

All of the pizzas at Ravine Vineyard Estate Winery are hand shaped and made with 100% organic Canadian wheat.

Be sure to indulge in the wines at Ravine Vineyard Estate Winery. This Brut is pale in colour with aromas of baked apples, biscuits, and lemon curd. Created using the traditional champagne method, Ravine Vineyard Brut is another example of the amazing wines available in the Niagara Peninsula.

There are lots of wines, cheeses, meats, and fresh baked goods available to purchase in the Lowrey Packing Shed.

Dinner at Table Rock House Restaurant

“As Close As It Gets” is not just a tagline in this case… it’s reality. This really is the closest you can dine to the brink of the Canadian Horseshoe Falls, and it is quite the experience.

The food at Table Rock House Restaurant is fantastic, but make sure the conversation is engaging because you will find yourself gazing out of the floor-to-ceiling windows at the beautiful waterfall just steps away.

You are sure to find something to please your palette on their internationally inspired and locally sourced menu. Reservations are required, as it is a popular spot to dine in Niagara Falls.

What I Ate

Our dinner with a view was awesome, from start to finish:

Artisan Bread Basket
• olive oil, white balsamic and sundried tomato dip

A basket of fresh artisinal bread with a tasty dip was a great way to start our meal.

Grilled 12oz Rib Eye Steak
• double smoked bacon, pearl onion and merlot jus, celery root potato mash, locally sourced vegetables

My steak was cooked to a perfect medium rare, and the merlot jus went well with the celery root potato mash. I paired my steak dinner with a Bloody Caesar (vodka, tabasco, worcestershire, clamato juice, spicy bean, olive and pickle skewer). A wonderful and delicious meal!
