Disclosure: My visit was covered by Glenwood Hot Springs Pool. All opinions are my own.
I’m a sucker for a good swimming pool, especially when I am traveling. There’s nothing like spending time in a pool to relax, rejuvenate, and cool off. Except if that pool is a mineral hot springs pool… then it takes the experience to a whole new level.
Glenwood Hot Springs Pool
There are two pools at Glenwood Hot Springs. The main big pool is 405 feet long and 100 feet wide at the widest point. The 1,071,000 gallons of water is kept at a comfortable 90° F / 32° C. This pool features a exercise lanes lap lanes and a diving area.
The second pool is a 100 feet long therapy pool that holds 91,000 gallons of water. The temperature of this pool is warmer at 104° F / 40° C.
Both pools are amazing. The therapy pool allows you to relax and soothe your muscles, and then you can cool off in the comfortable big pool.
Or, if you are just there for a fun day, spend time in the big pool with your family.
Night time soaks are absolutely amazing! If you get a chance, try it out. Just make sure you have your towel or bathrobe close by on cooler evenings.

The water for the Glenwood Hot Springs Pool comes from the Yampah Spring, located at the eastern end of the property. This natural spring has a daily flow of 3,500,000 gallons of water, at approximately 122° F/ 51° C. The source for the Yampah Spring is just south of the Colorado River, in the Lookout Mountain and Grand Hogback areas.
The spring water percolates through the fractures in the bedrock formation into the Leadville aquifer. During this process, the water is heated by the geothermal gradient in the area.
Sopris Splash Zone
The Sopris Splash Zone is a fun adventure area that is new to Glenwood Hot Springs Pool.
This area was being constructed during our visit, so we were not able to experience it. But following the process on social, and seeing it open shortly after our visit was quite exciting.
The highlight is a really cool adventure river. Think of those lazy rivers, but with dips and rapids like a real river. It makes the experience much more fun!
