Get Your Renovation Head On
09 Mar 2020

Renovating a home is so much fun, and it’s something us dad’s love to hate. We love to say that we hate to do anything with interior decor, but the secret is we love it. We love doing something from start to finish and knowing that it’s all our work that has made the home look great. So if you are due a bit of a home upgrade and you’re looking for a project to start, we want to show you some of the ways that you can get your home renovation groove on. The more time you spend renovating your home, the more tips and tricks that you’ll be able to pick up, and the better the finish will be. It’s a skill that you can perfect over many years. At least once a year a day will be doing some sort of DIY. Whether it be a lick of paint to the walls, or a full on room renovation. We’re going to talk you through some of the tips and tricks we have to create the perfect finish to any room in your home. Keep on reading to find out more.

Doing It All Yourself

This is the first thing that you need to perfect doing. If you’re going to start a DIY project, you actually need to be able to do it yourself. It’ll take proper planning to make sure that you get it all done quickly rather than disrupting home life for weeks. For example, if you’re doing a bedroom renovation it can be such a pain to be in a bedroom with no carpet, or no wallpaper. It doesn’t look or feel good and it can completely disrupt the zen of the room. So, all you need to do is pick a free weekend and get stuck in to doing it. We know that most dad’s are not going to want to come home from work and start a project, so sticking to the weekend is essential.

Luxurious Finishing Touches

Then you need to think about some luxurious finishing touches that make starting the project all worthwhile. Without the finishing touches a room can look as though all that has been changed is the decor. So, being room specific, if you were to renovate the living room why not think about finishing it off with a new sofa suite. It creates a vibe to the room that wasn’t there before, and once a renovation like that is done it won’t need doing again for many years to come. All you need to do is go to a furniture store to pick out one that you like. It might also help you to look at websites such as Pinterest for some interior design inspiration.

Speeding Up The Processes

You need to make sure that you’re speeding up the process, and that can easily be done by getting the kids involved. They could perhaps do a bit of painting, or they could spread some paste on the wallpaper sheets for you. It saves a ton of time that can be used on something else!
