Sharing is caring!

Food, fun and rest. Three things we needed in our stay at Bayview Wildwood Resort in Ontario’s Lake Country. The food will be my next post, so I’m going to share all of the fun activities we did on the Family Day long weekend.

Family Day Weekend Itinerary of Activities

Upon arrival, this was the itinerary we were given. We participated in as many activities as we could, and still had a lot of time to explore the area, and get some much needed rest.

1:30pm: Family Broomball. Its like hockey, except no skates. Instead of a puck it’s a ball, and instead of a stick it’s a broom. Okay so it’s nothing like hockey. but it’s still fun.

3:00pm: Family Feud. Join us in the Glympse Room for our version of the classic game show.

4:00pm: Winter Bocce Ball. Ski Shop. That’s right, just because its winter, doesn’t mean that we stop playing Bocce Ball. 6:30pm – 8:30pm: Supervised Children’s Programs. Cedar Room. Ages 3-7 & 8-12.

activities dj dance party

8:45pm: DJ Video Dance Night. Join DJ Rob McIsaac in Echo’s Lounge for a fun night of music videos and dancing.

Outdoor Activities

When we got there, we headed to the ski shop to get fitted for skates. Once we were fitted, we all went skating. Wendy tweeted out a picture of Lauren skating on the lake with Bayview’s Main Building in the background, and one of our friends tweeted her back saying it is their families “favourite summer vacation” destination. We knew we were in for a good weekend.

Every morning that we were there, the maintenance staff at Bayview Wildwood Resort made sure that the snow was cleared from the skating surfaces on the lake. It was nice that they had 3 separate rinks cleared; one for hockey, and 2 for family skating.

Earlier this year, they had 12 rinks cleared for the Taylor Cup 4 on 4 Pond Hockey Tournament, which benefits Sarcoma Research at Princess Margaret Cancer Centre.

Indoor Activities

We spent over an hour each day of the Family Day weekend in Bayview Wildwood Resort’s indoor pool.

activities whirlpool

We also took advantage of the whirlpool, which was nice and hot!

There were also Xbox 360 and Playstation 3 gaming stations…

a pingpong and air hockey table…

activities playing pool billiards

and a billiards table.

activities workout room

For those who wanted to get some exercise indoors, there was a workout room.

activities fooseball lauren and wendy

In the main building, there was a foosball table in Echo’s Lounge.

activities fooseball all the kids

On the last night we were there, all of the kids got together and had a team game. It was fun to see all the kids playing together.

activities haim goldenberg mentalist

And we really enjoyed the entertainment. Mentalist Haim Goldenberg’s interactive performance was fantastic!

Lots of activities. Plenty of rest. Just what we needed!

As much as we wanted to participate in all of the activities on Family Day weekend, all of us had colds, and weren’t feeling the greatest. We did as much as our bodies would allow, and then relaxed in our room, or watched the Olympics in the sitting area of the main inn.

We really enjoyed our Family Day Winter Well long weekend of fun activities at Bayview Wildwood Resort. We look forward to returning in the warmer temperatures.

Cheers,
Big Daddy
