Work And Class

Sometimes simple is better. As is the case with Work And Class. Food that everyone loves, cooked with familiar ingredients, that doesn’t involve too much fuss. With tag line like “square meal, stiff drink, and fair price”, you know you are in for a treat!

Work & Class is all about the working class background and down-to-earth personalities of its two owners, Tony Maciag and Dana Rodriguez.

Tony (Minister of Service) is a Detroit native who attended Michigan State University, and moved to Colorado in 1992.

Dana (Executive Chef) grew up on a farm in Mexico. In 2015 and 2016, she received nominations in the Best Chef Southwest category by the James Beard Foundation for her work at Work & Class.

The menu they have created is inspired by their American and Latin American roots, and because of their “working class” backgrounds, service is unpretentious.

Once you step into Work And Class, you will see the patrons enjoying great looking food and drinks in a casual setting.

What We Ate

As we were in a group, we ordered a few selections to sample and share.

Work And Class Beets By Loca

Salads

The Beets By Loca were on point. Tasty beets, fresh mixed greens, crunchy toasted almonds, and a yummy passionfruit vinaigrette. We got this one with the goat cheese on the side.

Work And Class Heirloom Tomatoes

The Heirloom Tomatoes were fresh, and the basil vinaigrette added just the right amount of acidity.

Work And Class Blue Corn Empanadas

Appetizers

I’m a big fan of empanadas, and these Blue Corn Empanadas knocked it out the park! Stuffed with mushrooms, asparagus, onion, garlic, brandy, manchego cheese, with side of chimichurri sauce to dip.

Work And Class Rosemary Red Wine Sausage

My favourite appetizer was the Rosemary Red Wine Sausage. Pickled cabbage, drizzled dijon mustard. Juicy, tender, and flavourful!

Work And Class Brandy And Peppercorn Beef Pot Roast

Mains

The Brandy And Peppercorn Beef Pot Roast was super tender, with a tasty jus.

Work And Class Dirty Rice With Sausage And Peppers

I loved the Dirty Rice With Sausage And Peppers. It was the perfect side dish for the pot roast.

Work And Class Butterscotch Pudding

Dessert

This Butterscotch Pudding was super tasty!

Work And Class Locas Carrot Cake

I only had a small bite of Loca’s Carrot Cake. It was very soft and had the right amount of sweetness.

Work And Class Strawberry Rhubarb Cheesecake

The girls demolished the Strawberry Rhubarb Cheesecake!

Work And Class Warm Chocolate Brownie

Not gonna lie… I may have eaten this entire Warm Chocolate Brownie. It was that good. Sharing is recommended, but not likely to happen.

Work And Class stiff drinks

Oh, and about those stuff drinks… all cocktails include two ounces of spirits. Go easy!
