You finally have the extra money to renovate your kitchen, or maybe you’re looking to repair something in that was severely damaged. You scanned Pinterest, Instagram and Tumblr looking for kitchen inspiration, but you still don’t know where to start. Here are kitchen design ideas that can improve your kitchen to match your personality and lifestyle.

Update The Facet

A kitchen faucet doesn’t have to just that. Installing a new faucet is a way that can bring something different to your kitchen, instantly giving it a facelift without spurlging too much. If your style is minimalist and contemporary, you could go for a bar faucet style. If you’re looking for something a little more classic, you could go for a bridge style.

Install New Cabinets

There are many options to choose from when it comes to updating the cabinets. You could add new doors, re-stain, add paint, give new hardware to the knobs, add trim to flat panel doors or a combination of everything. Who knew changing a few details could shake up the whole mood and feel of your space.

Update The Countertops

Countertops can also be a way to refresh the look. Depending on your needs and wants, there are plenty of material that can be used to add some personality to your cabinets. Granite is highly coveted as its both heatproof and adds real estate value to a home. If you’re looking for something vintage, sandstone offers an antiquated look. Wood countertops give a kitchen a rustic look.

Add Under-Cabinet Lighting

This is an extra touch that could ascend your kitchen to the next level. Not only is this a chic, contemporary option, this could also be a good way to brighten up the kitchen if yours doesn’t have many windows or very little ceiling real estate.

Get New Floors

Ripping out the floors, or changing the one you already have is one way to kick new life into your kitchen. You could restain your wooden floors. You could also explore the option of porcelain tile, vinyl flooring or laminate. It all depends on your lifestyle. If you have little ones or you’re big on entertaining, you may want to choose something that’s relatively easy to clean or may have some softness.

Add A New Pendant Light

A dangling pendant light could be the thing that ties your kitchen together. If you have kitchen lights that are mounted flush against the ceiling you can swap those boring old things to something more exciting like a pendant light. This is a great way to create a focal point for guests to gaze at. You could hang it over your island or bar.

Throw New Paint Onto The Walls

This is another easy way you can give your kitchen a facelift. Adding an accent wall with a splash of color or painting every wall can change the tone. You could add cool designs like stripes or geometric shapes.

If all these options are still overwhelming, you could do what most people do and hire a specialist to take care of the hard work for you.
