There’s never enough battery…It never fails. I’m out covering an event for work, and my phone battery starts to get low. So I hit the switch for my battery charger case to kick in. It gets fully charged, depletes the charger case’s battery, and then the phone starts to get low again. So I slow down on my usage. But I shouldn’t have to.
Now you may be thinking, “just how much does he use his phone?” Valid question. The answer is “more than the average person does”. I work as an online community manager for Ford of Canada. I cover events like auto shows and experiential events that our fantastic PR team hosts for media. While at those events, it is my job to amplify and engage with the content being produced by media, and to moderate our social channels.
But it’s not just work events. It’s also at events I am covering for my blog where there is travel involved, and I am not around my vehicle or at the hotel to charge my phone. I depend on having portable power.
I’ve purchased many portable charging batteries. Some have worked great, some did okay, and some did not live very long. I need something that has a lot of milliampere hours, and is still compact enough to carry with me.
The AUKEY PB-T11 30000 mAh Power BankWhen AUKEY Canada reached out to me to see if I would like to review their 30000 mAh power bank, I gladly accepted… after I looked at the email a second time and said, “how many milliampere hours?”

Battery Indicator LightMost battery chargers I have tested come with 4 LED lights indicating the power in the unit (usually in 25% increments.
The AUKEY PB-T11 30000 mAh Power Bank uses the power button as the battery indicator meter. This button also doubles as the flash light button (with the flashlight near the inputs/outputs).
When you press the power button quickly, it gives you a read on the amount of battery left. If the light is white, there is 70% to 100% charge. If the light is green, there is 30% to 70% charge left. If the lights is red, there is 0% to 30% charge left.
To activate the flashlight, press and hold the power button for 2 to 3 seconds. The flashlight will come on. Press and hold the power button for 2 to 3 seconds, and the flashlight will shut off.

First ImpressionsThis is no Mickey Mouse power bank. Weighing 580g, the AUKEY PB-T11 packs 30000 mAh of power. And, it has two output ports, capable of charging 2 devices simultaneously.
I’ve used it a few times to charge both my phone and my charger case while sitting at my girls taekwondo class. The PB-T11 does a fantastic job charging both units at the same time.
One thing I noticed is that the PB-T11 does not get warm while charging. Other power banks I have owned get quite warm. This may have something to do with the casing used. The PB-T11 has a very durable 3-piece hard plastic outer shell. It is really sturdy and solid.
I’ve even tested the PB-T11 with my iPad. It charges great, even while playing a game. Lauren often borrows my iPad, and forgets to plug it in afterwards. Having the PB-T11 around to charge the battery is very convenient, wherever I am. Even at home, if I am not near an outlet, I can use the PB-T11.
Using the AUKEY PB-T11 30000 mAh Power BankOur family got great use out of the PB-T11. In some cases, more than one of us used it in a single day.
Last week at youth group, Lauren brought her iPod with her so she could play games. She forgot to charge her iPod. I got her set up with the PB-T11 Power Bank, and she was able to use her iPod for the evening.
Later in the evening, I noticed my phone battery was low, so I plugged in as well.
Then, Stephanie (on of our fellow youth group leaders) said her phone was low… so we plugged her phone into the PB-T11 Power Bank. It got her phone from 12% to 74% in under an hour (we really weren’t keeping track of the exact time).
The VerdictIn all of our searching, we have yet to find a more powerful, durable power bank out there, at a price point better than the PB-T11. AUKEY has done a great job packing so much punch into a mid-size charger.
2 big thumbs up!
