Refined Elegance: The 2022 Infiniti QX60 Sensory AWD

Some of the most important features of any vehicle are those that provide comfort, convenience, and entertainment to its passengers. The 2022 Infiniti QX60 Sensory is a luxury SUV that excels in all of these areas, thanks to its many cutting-edge features.
I was really looking forward to my week in the 2022 Infiniti QX60, and I have to say, this luxury SUV did not disappoint.
2022 Infiniti QX60 Sensory
Let’s take a closer look at this newly redesigned luxury sport utility.
Exterior
This mid-size SUV screams sexy, especially with the Grand Blue Pearl Coat paint my test vehicle had. The all-new 2022 Infiniti QX60 features a stunning redesign that is sure to turn heads. With a higher waistline, wider and more muscular proportions, and a more pronounced hood, this SUV has a commanding presence that is simply beautiful. This SUV is not afraid to show off its strength. The front bumper is muscular and sculpted, with a singular underguard style accent that adds a touch of capability. The clean, broad lines throughout the vehicle are modern and stylish. The front grill is not overwhelming in size, and showcases the Infiniti branding well. And with standard features like LED headlights and 20-inch wheels, the QX60 is sure to impress.
As you approach the QX60, you’ll notice its unique digital piano key lighting. This signature styling not only looks amazing, but it also makes it easier to see where you’re going in low-light conditions. Plus, the illuminated keys are sure to leave a lasting impression on everyone who sees them.
The QX60’s rear D-pillar is a work of art, with its all-new wrap-around glass treatment. This unique design sets the QX60 apart from other vehicles on the road, and gives it a luxurious, simple look that is sure to turn heads.

Interior
The Sensory trim on the 2022 Infiniti QX60 offers everything in the Luxe trim, plus massaging and climate-controlled seats for driver and front passenger, heated second-row seats, power-return for third-row seats, advanced climate control with Plasmacluster air purifier and Grape Polyphenol Filter, wireless smartphone charger, motion-activated power liftgate, black open-pore Ash wood trim, enhanced interior ambient lighting, and panoramic moonroof.
Throw in the booming Bose Performance Series audio system with 17 speakers and a leather-wrapped premium heated steering wheel, and you’ve got the perfect recipe for an amazing road trip.
Even though the Bose audio system is amazing, you won’t need it to mask the road noise, as the QX60 does a great job of filtering out any noise from outside.

Power
The 2022 Infiniti QX60 is powered by a 295-horsepower 3.5-litre V-6 engine, with an all-new 9-speed automatic transmission and Intelligent All-Wheel Drive. The combined power of the naturally aspirated engine and 9-speed transmission gives the QX60 lots of power off the line, and enough oomph when needing to overtake on the highway with a full cabin of passengers.

Drive
The all-new QX60 is very fun to drive! It handles well in all conditions. I was fortunate enough to experience a typical Canadian week during my time with the QX60 – highway, rain, snow, and sunny weather. The five unique drive modes allowed me to tailor my driving experience to suit the conditions. Whether I was looking for peppy performance in Sport mode, increased efficiency in Eco mode, or enhanced traction in Snow mode, the QX60 gave me the best mode for the conditions I was driving in.

Fuel Economy
If you’re looking for an SUV with excellent fuel economy, the 2022 Infiniti QX60 should be at the top of your list. Its V6 engine and CVT transmission work together to provide great fuel efficiency, whether you’re driving in the city (11.9 L/100km) or on the highway (9.5 L/100km). The AWD does use more fuel than the FWD on the lower trims, but the pros heavily outweigh the cons in that department.

Safety
With standard safety features like Rear Automatic Emergency Braking, Forward Emergency Braking with Pedestrian Detection, Predictive Forward Collision Warning, Blind Spot Warning & Intervention, Rear Cross-Traffic Alert, Lane Departure Warning (with haptic steering wheel alert), High Beam Assist, Front and Rear Parking Sensors, and Driver Attention Alert, you can rest assured that you and your passengers are protected. Whether you’re driving in the city or on the open road, the QX60 has the latest safety technology to help you avoid accidents and get to your destination safely.
When it comes to parking and backing up, the available Around View Monitor with Moving Object Detection on the QX60 is a valuable asset. This system has been digitally enhanced and refined to give you a clear view of your surroundings, even if there are obstacles in the way. By keeping an eye on everything around you, you can park and back up with confidence, knowing that you won’t miss anything.
As you make your way through traffic, ProPILOT Assist with Navi-link can help you maintain a set speed and follow the flow of traffic. This system uses satellite data to anticipate upcoming turns, stops and starts, so it can adjust your speed accordingly. As a result, you can enjoy a more relaxed driving experience. And, should you need to take control of the vehicle at any point, simply remove your hands from the steering wheel or brake pedal and the system will deactivate. ProPILOT Assist is just one of the many features that makes driving the QX60 a truly luxurious experience.

Comfort
I was happily surprised at how comfortable this vehicle was. Entry was super easy, with lots of room for a larger passenger to get into the cockpit. The 8-way power-adjustable leather-appointed front seats, 4-way front adjustable lumbar, entry/exit driver seat assist, and climate-controlled massaging front seats made the QX60 a dream to drive. The rear passenger seating was quite roomy, with heated 2nd-row seats, rear passenger manual sunshades, and a panoramic moonroof.

Tech
The InTouch™ 12.3-inch Interactive Display in the 2022 Infiniti QX60 Sensory is super awesome! The split-screen function allowed me to have the audio on one side, and the 5-day weather forecast on the other. On a recent trip to Niagara Falls, we had navigation on one side, and audio on the other. You can customize it to your preference.
If you’ve ever been driving and had trouble seeing what was behind you, then you know how frustrating it can be. The Infiniti QX60’s Smart Rear View Mirror can help eliminate that problem by providing a clear, frameless view of what’s going on behind your vehicle. This next-generation rearview mirror connects to a rear-facing camera, so you’ll always have a clear view, even when your rear window is obscured. This can be a lifesaver when you’re reversing or changing lanes, and it can help make driving in general less stressful and more enjoyable.
The QX60’s innovative Head-Up Display (HUD) projects key information directly onto your windshield, so you can stay focused on the road ahead. The HUD displays speed, navigation, and other important data, making it easy to stay informed while driving.
The 2022 Infiniti QX60 has both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto integration. Whether you’re an iPhone or Android user, you’ll be able to enjoy all your favourite apps and features while on the go.
The QX60 comes with 7 USB charging ports, so everyone can stay connected on the go. The Infiniti InTouch system with WiFi hotspot means that up to 7 devices can be connected at once.
The Infiniti QX60 comes with a standard wireless charging pad, so you can keep your devices charged while on the go. Qi-certified devices are compatible with the charging pad, and there’s even a dedicated space in the center console to store your device while it’s charging.
One of the most practical features on the 2022 Infiniti QX60 is the motion-activated liftgate. This feature is activated by simply waving your foot under the rear bumper, making it easy to load and unload groceries or other items. The liftgate can also be opened and closed manually if desired.

Storage
There are 14.5 cubic feet of cargo space behind the third-row seats. When the 3rd row is folded down, the storage space increases to 41.6 cubic feet, which is enough to put the luggage of a family of 4 and much more (ie. golf clubs). The 2nd and 3rd rows being folded down give you 75.4 cubic feet of cargo space, which will allow larger items to be transported like lumber or larger boxes (ie. a good haul at IKEA).

Value
The 2022 Infiniti QX60 Sensory has a starting price of $64,995.00 (CAD), which is around the middle of the pack amongst its competition. The vehicle I tested had Grand Blue Pearl Coat paint as an option for $750.00 (CAD).

Based on the 10 different categories covered above, I gave the 2022 Infiniti QX60 Sensory an overall score of 90.8. High marks were awarded for the QX60’s awesome interior and super comfy cabin.

Summary
It’s not too often you find a vehicle that just feels right. I’ve tested a lot of vehicles, and the 2022 Infiniti QX60 Sensory is one of my favourites. Ease of entry, awesome tech, smooth ride, super roomy, and very comfortable. It’s the perfect vehicle for families, and for that long road trip.

This is a great road trip song! The comfort and roominess of the 2022 Infiniti QX60 Sensory make it an awesome vehicle for a solo or family road trip. Either way, you are in for one super comfy ride, especially if you have the massaging seats activated!
