Welcome to “11 Questions with…”. This edition’s guest is Laurel Crossley.

Way back when Twitter was a big thing, I met a lot of people at Tweetups… meeting people you met off of Twitter. Some f these were evening events at bars, and some were daytime events at cafés. I met Laurel at one of these daytime meetups. We instantly hit it off… she is extremely funny, and I love to laugh.

Shortly after meeting her, I lost the job I had been at for 12 years. I was devastated, depressed, and not motivated at all. Laurel offered to sit down with me and talk about everything. I agreed, and we met. Laurel listened, and then gave me some very valuable advice.

“You either need to work full time trying to find a job, or work full time trying to build your brand.” It was Laurel’s words that directed me onto the social media and blogging path. I stayed in the marketing field, but switched what I specialized in.

This is Laurel’s contribution to “11 Questions with…”.

11 Questions with… Laurel Crossley

1. Elevator pitch… tell us about yourself.

Laurel Crossley has over 20 years of Family Coaching experience supporting parents and children on topics related to stress, worry, anxiety, mindfulness and meditation. She is a highly sought after speaker on the topics of self-development, parenting, and child development, having been interviewed for television, radio and featured in several print publications.

Laurel is devoted to supporting mental health promotion and education as it relates to families. Because many of her clients struggle with participating in traditional classroom settings, she set out to find a way of supporting them. Laurel’s holistic program and coaching approach is whole-child centred, ensuring that children are supported mind, body, and spirit.

2. Your spouse… tell us about him.

It will all work out beautifully.

Thanks for reading!

Big Daddy

“11 Questions with…” is an on-going feature. I will be interviewing parents with the same 11 questions, who like me, live in the digital world. The goal is to examine different perspectives, advice, challenges, and experiences from how people parent their children, and live a successful work / life / online balance.

There will be no specific frequency for this feature. It will be on-going, and filed under the “Lifestyle” tab, then “11 Questions with…” subtab, so it is easy to find.

With all the challenges of parenting these days, we could all use stories from fellow parents, who may have already gone through a similar experience, or were offered advice that you could use.

If you would like to be interviewed for an upcoming edition, please contact me at craig@bigdaddykreativ.ca.
