A couple weeks ago, Wendy and I had appointments at DoveSpa for facials. This was a first for both of us, so we really didn’t know what to expect.
As a guy, I wasn’t too sure what to expect. In my mind, spa days and any kind of spa treatments have always been for women. It wasn’t until I ran a contest on my blog to giveaway gift cards for DoveSpa did I realize a lot of women wanted to win the prize for their husbands, and that some have been to a spa many times for various services.
A few years ago, I was experiencing soreness in my feet. Someone had suggested going for a pedicure. I figured “what the hell” and went for one. It was absolutely amazing… but I kept it to myself.
So fast forward to our DoveSpa experience. We arrive, walk in, and we’re welcomed by the receptionist. The waiting area was so clean and relaxing.
We filled out a brief survey so they could get to know our health history. Shortly after, I was taken to have a skin analysis done. This is where a DoveSpa Skin Care Expert tests the oil levels, elasticity, pigmentation and dryness (water levels) of your skin.
Once finished, I was lead into a really cool lounge where there were magazines, calming music and refreshments.
One thing stood out so far… The DoveSpa staff was super-friendly and answered all my questions.
My technician lead me into the room. The room had the same relaxing decor as the lounge and waiting areas, with the same calming music playing. There was an opening to the next room, which is where Wendy would be having her facial done.
My treatment started a few minutes later.
So I didn’t get any pictures during the treatment… it was just too relaxing and I really wanted to enjoy the experience. From the heated bed, to the deep cleanse and skin hydration, and the gentle massage of my face, neck and shoulders, I felt so relaxed and at ease. It was the much needed 70 minutes of relaxation that I needed.
After my treatment, I waited for Wendy in the lounge. I enjoyed a hot herbal tea while waiting.
When Wendy was finished, she joined me for a tea. We relaxed in the lounge for a while, where we both relaxed with our teas and hot neck wraps. It’s not too often the both of us get some time to ourselves, let alone with each other.
While we were waiting, our DoveSpa Skin Care Experts gave us our reports, and answered all of our questions. I have always had an issue with ingrown hairs (after shaving), and they gave me some great advice and recommendations, which I have started doing and it has already helped. That in itself was worth the visit!
So guys… the spa isn’t just for women. You can enjoy being pampered too. I did… and I left feeling amazing!
Do you feel like experiencing a DoveSpa facial of your own? Register at dovespa.ca and you can get your own facial experience… for FREE, as well as updates on specials and promotions! How cool is that? There are a lot of other services that DoveSpa offers that I would love to experience. The Indian Head Massage would probably put me to sleep (the relaxation of the facial almost did). Of course, the pedicure is always a great way to make your often forgot about feet feel better.
Thank you DoveSpa. I feel totally relaxed, and will definitely be back to try your other services!
